La Togata

Azzurreta welcomes you with it's beautiful ruby red color tending toward garnet. On the nose, the olfactory bouquet is intense and fruity, with hints of blackberries, plums, and blueberries, followed by spicy notes of black pepper, a light vanilla and dark chocolate. In the mouth ample, complex with well-smoothed tannins integrated into the body, recalling the notes perceived on the nose for a very persistent finish.

Grape Variety: Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot.

Colour: Ruby red color tending toward garnet, limpid.

Bouquet: Enveloping and fragrant, with fruity notes well blended with woody scents.

Taste: Great body, structure, and tannins, soft but powerful.

Alcohol: 15%.

Serving Suggestions:

Red meat, seasoned cheeses, and traditional salumi.

Preferably served in a Ballon glass at 18°C. 

Ageing: Wood ageing for 18 months in small French oak Barrels (barriques). At least 6 months ageing in the bottle.

Production Area: The vineyards are in the hills of Montalcino, at different heights and with a sun exposure until sunset. Average altitude of the Vineyards: 250 mt. 15/20 years old in the South of Montalcino and the grapes are a mix of old and very old Vineyards.

Soil: Mixed clay, very rich in skeleton.

Training System: Bilateral and balanced cordon.

Annual production: 5.000 bottles.
